What is Art in Action?
Inspired by the simple principle that people are fascinated when artists and craftsmen openly demonstrate their skills and discuss their work, Art in Action was born.
Approximately 25,000 visitors come over four days to learn, buy and enjoy, exhibitions, classes and performances of 400 demonstrating artists, teachers, musicians and performers.

Brenda Hartill | TIMELINE

The exhibition, her first major retrospective, provides in-depth insight into her works from her early career to the present. Brenda Hartill | Timeline includes several out-of-print and rare figurative works as well as recently embossed watercolour, collagraphs and encaustic pieces.
In the early days, Hartill’s work was more representational, drawing-orientated and inspired by her family experiences. Later she became more interested in experimenting with the abstract, developing a new visual language with structure, texture and light. Her work is now based on universal natural forms and structures in the landscape. She often uses a grift called carborundum to provide the collaged etched images with deep black background. She has recently been experimenting with embedding collages in encaustic wax, and exploring the possibility of combining the colour and translucency of watercolour along with her printmaking skills.

London Printmakers is a group of professional printmakers who work independently but show together. T
They use a remarkable range of print media, and subjects, characterised by a strong graphic approach.
This show features work by Mychael Barratt, Aimée Birnbaum, John Duffin, Morgan Doyle, Veta Gorner, Carole Hensher, Karen Keogh, Frank Kiely, Colin Moore, Susie Perring, Trevor Price, Sonia Rollo & Jazmin Velasco.
