A few days left to visit the show

Successful exhibition at 54 The Gallery, Mayfair

9 artists & makers including BBH Print Society members

Helen Boden, Marian Carter & Douglas Anderson

Artists outside the classroom

Our group show at 54 The Gallery, Shepherd Market, Mayfair  has been a definite success.
The exhibition of work by 9 artist makers looks fantastic and the responses from visitors has been so encouraging for all of us.

Sales have been good but it would be nice if a few more of the customers visiting the various restaurants right outside the gallery door would pop in and spend some money on art instead of another hottle of wine

The Opening party was crazy!!!!
So many people - thank you to everyone who has supported our venture this week.

Hacked email

The joys of digital technology
Apologies to anyone who has supposedly received email from me telling you I am stuck in Istanbul and need lots of money.
Grrrrrr! So irritating and an invasion.
Just lost ALL my email contacts in the process.
I'm going back to a typewriter.

Lara Boswell at Art in Action

I managed to eventually find my way to Art in Action yesterday via a strange route (M40 closed)
Of course my first stop was the Printmakers tent.
A really interesting selection of demonstrating artists and the tent felt less crowded with fixtures this year.
Plenty of wall space for the artists to display their work to a very keen crowd.

I thought I might get a chance to say 'hello' to Laura but she was buried behind a 3 deep wall of fascinated art enthusiasts.
Her stand and art work looked magnificent - the organisers had given her an ideal central space with plenty of hanging room.

Art in Action, for those of you who have not been before is one of the premier open art fairs in the country and the model on which lots of copycat shows have taken their lead.
It is well worth a visit. The emphasis has always been upon artists welcoming visitors to ask, probe, be nosey.... about our particular working practices.
Lots of really exceptional work across all media on display.
Drop in and longer workshops run each day.
Great ice cream!
Beautiful gardens.
Mediocre coffee.

Well worth a visit.

Helen, Marian & Douglas in Group show @ 54 The Gallery, Mayfair

Artists outside the classroom

A colleague & I have organised a group show of work of 9 artists who teach
at 54 The Gallery, Shepherds Market, Mayfair.
28th July - 2nd August

This includes 3 BBH members: Helen Boden, Marian Carter & myself.

This is a lovely little gallery space available for hire on a weekly basis.
Really central location a stone's throw from Berkeley Square & The Royal Academy.

Please come along and have a look at the show and say hello.

I have plans to coordinate a second larger group exhibition in 2016 (Monochrome Moments)
I will be taking 'notes of interest' from BBH members.

Regards
Douglas
